If your jaw looks wider or squarer than you’d like, the cause is often a strong chewing muscle called the masseter. Masseter Botox relaxes that muscle so it gradually slims down, giving the lower face a softer, more tapered shape. At Spoiled Aesthetics on West Flamingo, it’s one of the most popular ways clients use Botox in Las Vegas beyond forehead lines.

What is masseter Botox?

Your masseters are the muscles at the back corners of your jaw. Clench your teeth and you can feel them tighten. In some people they’re naturally large, and they can make the lower face look wide or square.

Masseter Botox places small injections of Botox into each masseter. The muscle relaxes, works less, and over several weeks gets smaller. The result is a slimmer, more contoured jawline without surgery. Using Botox in the masseter is a common, well-established aesthetic treatment, but it’s considered off-label. We’ll go over that at your consultation.

Because it relaxes the same muscle you use to clench, masseter Botox is also commonly used by people who clench or grind. If you have jaw pain, a clicking jaw or have been told you have TMJ, see your dentist or physician first. At Spoiled, masseter Botox is an aesthetic treatment.

Who it’s a good fit for

  • A square or wide lower face caused by muscle, rather than bone or fat
  • Anyone who wants a slimmer, softer face shape without surgery or downtime
  • People who want a more contoured jaw to balance their features

It isn’t the right choice if the width comes mostly from bone structure or fullness under the jaw. A quick look at your consultation tells us which it is. Masseter Botox also isn’t recommended if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding or have a neuromuscular condition.

How many units does masseter Botox take?

Most people need about 20 to 30 units per side, or 40 to 60 units total. Stronger muscles, common in men, can need more. Your injector sets the dose after feeling how the muscle moves.

How much does masseter Botox cost in Las Vegas?

Botox at Spoiled is priced by the unit, so cost depends on your dose. At our current Botox pricing, a typical masseter treatment of 40 to 60 units runs about $480 to $720, and first-time clients get $100 off. You’ll know your exact total before we start.

What to expect

  1. Free consultation. We look at your jaw at rest and clenched, talk about the shape you want, and agree on units.
  2. Treatment, about 10 minutes. A few small injections into each side. Most people feel quick pinches.
  3. Back to your day. No downtime. Skip heavy chewing, like gum or tough steak, for the first day.

When will I see results?

The muscle shrinks gradually, so the change happens over time:

  • First few weeks: the muscle starts to relax, and your jaw may feel a little less tight.
  • Visible slimming: the jawline change builds over several weeks and is often most noticeable around 6 to 8 weeks.

How long does it last?

Results usually last 3 to 6 months. With regular treatments, the muscle often stays smaller and may need fewer units over time.

Side effects

Side effects are usually mild: tenderness, slight swelling or a small bruise where the needle went in, and some chewing fatigue for the first couple of weeks. Less commonly, Botox can spread to nearby muscles and affect your smile for a while. That’s one reason placement and dosing by an experienced, licensed injector matter.

Masseter Botox vs. jawline filler

They do opposite jobs. Masseter Botox makes the jaw look narrower by relaxing the muscle. Jawline filler adds definition and structure. Some clients do both: Botox to soften width and filler to sharpen the jaw angle. Ask us which fits your face.
